Belgian Waffle Recipe

It is easy to differentiate Brussels waffle; rectangular sides with Liege waffles. Here is a simple recipe for you. Although this recipe is more traditional, you can use bisquick. Bisquick is used in many basic recipes as cake flour or to make cookie dough.


  • 500g flour
  • 7g instant dried yeast
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 250g Butter
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Salt


  1. Heat a cup of whole milk until it turns lukewarm. Then mix in the yeast and leave it aside.
  2. Melt the butter until dissolve and not burn. Then remove from heat.
  3. Separate the egg whites and egg yolks. Beat the egg whites until fluffy.
  4. Take a big mixing bowl; pour in the flour, vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, melted butter, yeast mixture and the egg yolks.
  5. Mix all ingredients except the egg whites until the dough is not lumpy anymore. It should be thick.
  6. Fold in the beaten egg whites into the dough and mix it slowly then stop.
  7. Leave the dough in room temperature for at least 30 minutes for fermentation until it doubles.
  8. Grease the waffle maker iron. Scoop some dough on to it. Bake until it turns golden brown.
  9. Best served hot with your favorite toppings.
